What is your purpose?, why have you come to Earth and what is your life’s purpose while you are here? What are your dreams and goals? What is the purpose of life? Big Questions, that only a few brave souls ever stop and take the time to answer for themselves.
The Dalai Lama said that the purpose of life “Is to seek Happiness”. So, why are so many people unhappy and dissatisfied with their lives?
We have been taught to seek the answers outside of ourselves, that the big lottery win will bring happiness, a bigger car, a bigger house, a better looking spouse or partner. Yet, even when we get these additions, we are still searching for the next big thing.
Once people have had enough of this hamster wheel/stressful way of living, of going around in circles, never achieving true happiness, they normally say to themselves “right, someone has to change in my life, as this just isn’t working anymore, as I am not happy”.
That is when a Spiritual Practice normally enters the mix, like Yoga, Tai Chi, Meditation etc.
Why is this so?, because I believe that when the soul is searching for things outside of oneself to bring happiness, peace and love, like chasing money, sex, thrills etc, it will eventually result in pain, heartbreak and disappointment, as these pursuits are all fleeting and are never permanent.
Spiritual Masters throughout history have all eventually arrived at the same conclusion about this mystery in their own lives, which in a way is a Paradox. That whatever you desire, has to be created inside of yourself first, before you can see the results on the outside. As within, So without;
The Kingdom of Heaven is inside oneself, not above you in the sky. Jesus Christ often speaks of Heaven, and other Spiritual Masters have said the same thing, that in order to see it or experience it you have to go within oneself first.
The love that you seek is hidden in your heart. In order to unlock this hidden treasure, you will have to take some time to heal yourself and take up a practice that will get you to this realisation, this I believe is the Heaven Christ was speaking about.
According to Buddha, suffering arises from three primary causes, known as the Three Poisons or Three Unwholesome Roots:
- Greed (Lobha): The desire for pleasure, material possessions, and sensory experiences. Greed leads to attachment and craving, which are primary sources of suffering.
- Hatred (Dosa): Aversion, anger, and ill-will toward others and circumstances. Hatred fuels conflict, resentment, and negative emotions, perpetuating suffering.
- Ignorance (Moha): The misunderstanding of the true nature of reality, particularly the impermanence (Anicca) and non-self (Anatta) of all things. Ignorance leads to delusion and a distorted perception of reality, causing suffering.
These causes create a cycle of craving and attachment, which perpetuates suffering. Understanding and addressing these root causes is essential to overcoming Dukkha.
Meditation & Mindfulness practice has been proven to heal the body and to awaken the Spirit within. Once, the ascension practice has begun, you need to stay connected to the source of all creation, to experience this growing love coming from within, and to eventually avoid the three poisons mentioned above.
